Both events attract State Development Teams from across Australia and the competition is supported by developing referees from each state. The Cup and Challenge will be supported by a number of highly accredited Referee Educators to assist the development of the referees.
Local Association tournament wise, January will see the 2016 Skin, Sea & Surf Bendigo BA Junior Classic and the Hamilton BA’s Junior Tournament in the South West.
A number of Victorian selected athletes will be attending the BA Centre of Excellence in January to work out with Australian Coaches.
February will be a busy month with 5 Regional Association tournaments, Portland’s Junior South West Classic, Wodonga’s Junior Invitational, Maffra BA’s Junior Tournament, the Warragul BA’s Junior Invitational and Benalla BA’s Junior Tournament.
Also in February BVC’s U16/U18 Division 1 and 2 Country Championships will be conducted and hosted for the second year by the Traralgon BA.
February will also see Victorian Teams in National Championship action in the BA National U20 Championships and Vic Country and Vic Metro Teams in the Annual Ivor Burge National Championships for players with an Intellectual Disability.
Both events to be conducted in Ipswich in Queensland.
The Victorian High Performance Program will also tip off 2016 following athletes involvement at the ACJBC. February will see camps in Regional Victoria and also State Training Sessions following the final selections for the Vic Country U18 State Teams.
Domestically some associations will be halfway through their “Summer Season” whilst other associations will be commencing season one of the new year.
