This week, the annual Australian Country Junior Basketball Cup (ACJBC) gets underway in Albury. The event, now in itís 30th year, is a highlight on the Country Basketball Calendar and a key component of the Junior High Performance Pathway for Victorian Country athletes, coaches and referees
The 2016 Victorian Country Team consists of 160-strong contingent of athletes, referees and coaches whom are all looking to make their mark on the national stage against teams representing NSW Country, SA Country, Tasmania, Western Australia and New Zealand.
The ĎCupí is a proven breeding ground for many high profile athletes. Since the events inception in 1986, more than 90 juniors taking part and later going on to represent both Australia and New Zealand in international competitions.
Following the Cup, BVC athletes will also be taking on some of the country's toughest competition in the Southern Cross Challenge at the State Basketball Centre, Wantirna South.
