Just under 1000 twelve and thirteen year old athletes attended Basketball Victoria Country's Skills days, across eight centres in Regional Victoria.
The athletes received instruction from Vic Country Coaches under a program set by Vic Country’s High Performance Coach Justin Schueller.
“It is a full day for these athletes as they learn individual skills to advance their game,” BVC participation Coordinator Craig Hockley said.
At the completion of the day, athletes were selected into the BVC Regional academy, a 20 week program that delivers intense training for the young basketballers.
The Regional Academy program also includes two live in camps. A further selection occurs at the regional level in the final camp. Those selected are able to attend the BVC Gold Nugget Camp in September.
“The academy aims to upskill all athletes, work on individual skill sets and introduce them to the Vic Country system of play”. Craig added.fileadmin/user_upload/BVC_Media_Releases/1Academy_Media_selections.pdf
